The Best Care Begins with the Right Training

While Florida sets basic requirements for background checks, age, and health, it mandates only a few specific training topics. This gives agency administrators the flexibility to choose the training solutions that best align with their business goals. That flexibility offers a powerful opportunity: with targeted training in areas like Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and personal care, agencies can differentiate themselves, attract and retain top talent, and deliver consistent, high-quality care that goes beyond compliance.

Only CMS certified Home Health Agencies and state approved post-secondary, or vocational schools are authorized to conduct HHA training. Learn2Care provides the curriculum and tools to support these trainers but does not directly certify HHAs.

Nurse Registries cannot train HHAs for CMS certification. However, they can use Learn2Care to offer skills refreshers, continuing education, or supplemental training.

HHAs must complete 75 hours of training, including 12 hours of clinical practice, per 42 CFR 484.80.

State licensed HHAs need 40 hours of training and 12 hours of in- service annually, including CPR certification, as outlined in R. 59A 8.0095.

Yes. For home health settings, HHAs must receive 2 hours of training related to Alzheimer’s and dementia care (ADRD training).

Yes. HHAs must complete at least 1 hour of HIV/AIDS education, as stated in Florida Statute 381.0035.

Florida requires 6 hours of medication training, with 2 hours focused on self-administration. Training must be delivered and validated by a nurse, following 59A 8.0097 F.A.C.

We provide state aligned training with built in content covering ADRD, HIV/AIDS, infection control, first aid, and more plus reporting tools to track completion and compliance.
