California Workplace Violence Prevention

Workplace violence is not limited to dramatic, headline-making events — it includes threats, intimidation, verbal abuse, and physical aggression from coworkers, customers, clients, or people with no legitimate business at the worksite. California law now requires California’s employers in the state to take a structured, proactive approach to preventing it. This course explains the four recognized types of workplace violence, walks through California’s Workplace Violence Prevention Plan requirements, builds practical skills in recognizing warning signs and escalating threats, and provides clear, actionable guidance for responding safely to an active threat and supporting recovery afterward.
