Sexual harassment can occur in healthcare facilities, community programs, home care environments, administrative offices, and virtual workplaces. Harassment can involve coworkers, supervisors, patients, clients, family members, contractors, vendors, or visitors. Such conduct can negatively affect safety, dignity, morale, teamwork, and quality of care. New York employers are required to provide sexual harassment prevention training annually.
This course must be presented together with your employer’s Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy, complaint form, and reporting procedures. Review these materials as part of your training. Learners will explore real-world healthcare and home care examples, understand internal and external reporting options, review anti-retaliation protections, and learn practical strategies for intervention and workplace accountability. The course also examines supervisor obligations and bystander actions that help create safe and respectful work environments.
