This 60-minute course provides caregivers with essential knowledge and skills to support individuals living with Dementia, promoting independence, dignity, and emotional well-being through personalized care strategies.
Learners will explore person-centered approaches to communication, care routines, and providing emotional support as a client’s needs change minute to minute or day by day across various stages of Dementia. Through scenario-based instruction, red flag recognition, and reflective learning, caregivers will gain the confidence and practical tools necessary to assist and adapt daily tasks while maintaining the person’s sense of identity and autonomy.
Focusing on both compassion and compliance, this course teaches caregivers how to adapt their approach based on the individual’s cognitive and emotional state, follow care plans, and use adaptive techniques. It covers essential topics such as person-centered communication, respectful care, dignity preservation, and managing common challenges in Dementia care, including confusion, behavioral changes, and task modification.
