    For aides who will be allowed to assist with transfers, the content in this course must be combined with approved classroom training to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This course teaches how to safely transfer the person:

    • Using a walker
    • Using a wheelchair
    • Using additional transfer devices
    • Duration: 60 mins

    What you'll learn

    By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    • Safely assist with transfers using a walker between bed, chair, and toilet
    • Perform wheelchair transfers for clients who can or cannot stand
    • Support safe movement to and from beds, chairs, and bedside commodes
    • Use additional transfer devices as directed in the care plan
    • Follow safety, comfort, and infection control practices during all transfers
