Palliative and Hospice Care

Palliative and hospice care are both centered on comfort, dignity, and quality of life, but they differ in timing, goals, and care plans.
This course helps caregivers understand how to shift from a “”curing”” mindset to a “”comforting”” approach — learning when to observe, when to comfort, and when to report while supporting the person-centred approach to palliative and end-of-life care practiced in British Columbia.
Through real-world examples, you’ll explore how interdisciplinary teams collaborate to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and how caregivers can support clients and families with empathy and professionalism at the end of life.
