BC Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Orientation for Home Care Workers

Home care workers in British Columbia perform their duties in unpredictable, non-traditional workplaces — private homes, apartments, rural properties, and community settings — often without direct supervision. This course translates the requirements of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation into practical guidance that home care workers can apply on every visit, every shift.

Learners will build the knowledge and confidence to identify hazards, follow safe work practices, use the working alone check-in system, respond to violence or aggression, and report incidents and hazards in accordance with WorkSafeBC requirements.
