WHMIS for Alberta Home CareWorkers

This 60-minute training provides Alberta home care workers with the WHMIS knowledge required to work safely with or near hazardous products. The course covers the purpose of WHMIS, common hazardous products encountered in home care, how to read supplier and workplace labels, how to interpret hazard pictograms, and how to locate and use Safety Data Sheets.

Learners will also explore safe handling, storage, and disposal practices appropriate to the home care environment, how to respond to spills, exposures, and incidents, and how to report hazardous product concerns in line with employer policy.
