Orientation to Types of Physical Disabilities: Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune condition that affects joints and can significantly limit mobility, independence, and comfort. In home care, caregivers play a key role in supporting clients living with RA by helping them maintain function, prevent injury, and preserve dignity during tasks that may cause pain or stiffness. This course introduces caregivers to the basic symptoms, physical limitations, and daily care needs of individuals with RA. Learners will gain insight into adapting care routines, promoting autonomy, and reporting changes or concerns to their supervisor appropriately.
