Emergency Response & Incident Reporting for Alberta Home Care

This course provides Alberta home care workers and supervisors with a practical framework for recognizing emergencies, responding safely, preserving safety, and reporting incidents. It is especially relevant in home and community care settings where workers are often the first to observe a medical emergency, significant change in condition, fall, injury, environmental hazard, medication-related concern, behavioral crisis, or other urgent situation requiring timely action and communication.

The course also covers incident reporting requirements, objective documentation practices, near miss reporting, hazard reporting, and the role of timely communication in supporting client safety, worker safety, and continuity of care.
