Home Management: Attic and Basement Safety and Scope for Caregivers

Attics and basements often contain clutter, dust, or stored items that clients may request assistance with. While caregivers can support home cleanliness, these spaces often involve safety risks and tasks outside the caregiver’s role. This course trains caregivers to recognize which attic or basement tasks are appropriate, for example- light tidying, wiping reachable surfaces and which should be avoided or reported. Caregivers will learn to prioritize safety, respect agency policy, and communicate effectively with clients when asked to clean or enter these areas.
