This awareness-level course introduces caregivers to the basic steps of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and safe use of an AED, with an emphasis on scene safety, clear communication, and scope of practice. Learners will explore how to recognize cardiac arrest, call for help, , and assist emergency responders while maintaining professionalism and emotional control. This course is a foundational education to prepare workers for additional hands-on training, approval, and certification as required by state, agency, nurse supervisor, and client. Successful completion of this course prepares caregivers to understand medical emergencies that may require CPR and does not constitute permission, approval, or certification in CPR.
